And, One Last Thing...

the 2012 schedule is out! It only means one thing...the 2012 is just right around the corner. Its amazing to think how far time has passed, how the bad times have pretty much been forgotten (at least for now) and how everyone is ready for whats to come.

Bring it.

As the World Keeps Spinning...

Couple of things that has been happening in the (my) world lately:

Excuse my creeper face. lol

Hang lost her shoes on her way down. The shoe was never found. Check out her blog for a picture of it as it flies off. Its freaking hilarious.

I need to get this photo despite its poor quality. We need a picture of the sake. lol

  • I watched my friends jump off a plane. (Don't worry, they all survived). Unfortuately, I forgot to bring my camera so the quality of my images are quite low (It would have been difficult anyways even with my camera to capture the moment). Check out my friend Hang's blog for more details. She's got the legit stuff. Be sure to check out the picture of her shoe coming off. Its hilarious.
  • Attained a fabulous piece of paper also known as a driver's permit! This has been in the talks since I was 16 when I tell my friends that I want to drive to my math buddies house. Now...who wants to teach me how to operate a vehicle? I promise I'll be a good student.
  • Also acquired a wonderful CA ID in the interim so I don't look like a fool when I get carded. I sincerely apologize if I went out with you and I pulled out my passport but don't worry, you won't get glares much longer.
  • Visited the jelly belly factory. one word: sample! well, not all the samples tasted good...Who has tried boogers, barf and rotten egg beans? I have. Someone had to direct me to the trash can immediately after.
  • A "go big or go home" dinner at Kirala. Free sake also always does the job as well. Throwing hun-nets, hun-nets. (Well, not quite.)
  • This site is freaking hilarious. lol
  • Paperrrsss....that leads me to my next thing
  • When is summer getting here? 2 more weeks left of school
Happy Spring!

Portraits on Easter Sunday

I suppose the title of this post is appropriate to the pictures on I'm about to post. Because a friend of mines really wanted a picture of herself at hightea because she wants to send it to her mom? I don't know...lol but whatever it is I suppose it would slightly awkward if I just posted one picture so here are a couple more.

Sorry, I just really like this picture for some reason.
More from Socal journey soon.

Tea Party on Easter Sunday

Theres no better to do on sunday than have a tea part-tay. I quite like the afternoon high teas every so often. Yes, we sipped tea. They had an usually long list of tea selections. I was extremely amused by the glitter and gold because the black tea was sparkling and it was really cool (well, at least to me).
The peach crumpet white tea was actually quite delicious. The yelp readers recommended the strawberry fields green which was good but the peach crumpet definitely stole it.

As an enthusiast of the floral patterns, I was immediately attracted the numerous patterns. It looked like someone ripped the patterns of the Cait Kitson products and put them all around the restaurant (well not that drastic). But, yes the vivid colors, pinks (though I'm really not a huge fan of that color) and florals definitely created the atmosphere. Lets just make this clear, I don't want my future home to look like this. I just like going to places like this every so often. lol

As for the food, well lets just say it wasn't the best. It was alright.  But a girl needs her creme and jam every so often so that definitely got the kick (for a bit). Whats a high tea without crumpets, the scone and finger sandwiches? Well, they had all of it.

What a good way to spent Easter having a cup of glittery tea and scones.

Have a fabulous day,

Let the Memories Continue...

The last bit of my photographic journey. The LACMA, Pink's and Hollywood. Who goes to LA and not see Hollywood? Not this girl.

It was a free day at the LACMA. I'm not usually a museum type of person but they do have some pretty cool contemporary exhibits.

So we went to Pink's. The world's famous chilli dog that even celebrities and royals go there. To be honest, I think there are other better hot dog places out there like Top Dog. Well, I'm not really a chilli dog type of person but I think I could have lived without eating one of those chilli dogs but hey if the world raves about, I'd check it out too. The wait for a chilli dog was about an hour.

We then tried Mashti Malone, a Middle Eastern ice cream place nearby. When you first walk in there, it doesn't have the greatest decor. They have the exotic flavors that I really like-- lavender and rosewater. Call me weird but those are actually my favorite ice cream flavors. I had the creamy rosewater flavor and it was really good! If you're up to try some curious flavors, it'd be a good place to do.

By the type we got to the Walk of Fame, it started to downpour. But, we still gave it go anyways. Despite being all wet, we still managed to take a few shots.

The infamous lamps outside the LACMA.

Someone was having fun with a piece of art.

Hang got in trouble climbing on those tubes. lol

Inside the LACMA. I have so many pictures with the two of them looking like this.

HARRY POTTA!

Eddie Murphy.

Woo. Meryl.

Adam Sandler

 The infamous Chinese theater.

Madame Tussand's wax museum. Xuemin with Lucy.

Hang wanted a picture with Chuck Norris but I guess Xuemin's not impressed.

Thats the last of the sequences. I'll post some miscellaneous ones soon.
Until next time,

Soooo Cali

I always get the feeling that I'm always one step behind. Well...I guess I am in some ways. Who knew working with photos can be quite tedious sometimes. Anyways, here is the next part of my journey over spring break. Well, more like half of a day (looking too many pictures onto one post isn't too effective). Exploring parts of LA. It was drizzling for part of it but I guess that sun decided to come out.

Kogi: A korean-mexican food truck. It actually tasted different from what I expected it to taste but still good. I thought it would be a burrito with kimchi and barbequed meat. In reality, it actually tasted more like a mexican burrito with hints of korean flavors to it.

Next off to the Santa Monica Pier. This is the quite location that I think of when I think of LA. Only to learn later from this class that I took last semester that barely anyone lives like this down in Southern California. I always imagined this place like the piers that you see on the The O.C. and I guess that is exactly how it looked like. After going to Disneyland a day before, I didn't find it as amusing in terms of rides and games. Afterall, theme parks don't get as fun as Disneyland or six flags for the most part. We also walked around the Third Promenade. The stores were very nice and fancy. They even gave paper bags.

Kogi food truck! My friend has been telling me about this for quite some time and finally I get to try it.

After some time, I actually found this quite delicious.

More too come. Sorry, I'm doing this in parts. I have got quite a bit of photos to get through.

Toodles,

I Don't Want to Be Anything Other Than Me

Karen's Cafe in season 9. It seemed so different from the cafe in season 1 but the atmosphere and feeling is still there.

"Don't say I never gave you anything"

Pilot: The River Court.

Wow. After 9 season, I can't believe it has finally come to an end. I grew up watching this and I still remember the time when one of my friends from middle school handed me the first DVD of the first season and told me to watch it. We were in classes and I shared at the tanish orange disc in doubt. I felt an instant connection and fell in love with the show. It was the first TV show/movie I really even watched. Even since, I followed the show religiously.

You can call it a soap opera but I find it realistic. I actually learned about a great life from this show. What I love about the show, especially the characters, is that it is every relatable. There are ups and downs on the show that could happen in real life. It taught me life lessons and how to deal with the big bad world out there. It is actually quite unbelievable how much I believed in the show and how much I actually got out it. Its seems kind of crazy and far reach, but true. I looked up to Haley and everything that she did.  I feel like I can find meaning in everything on the show...the characters, the writing, the music...everything. It empowered me to live my life (it seems a bit of a stretch but its true). For a large part of my growing up, the show acted as an ally to my life.

If you have known me long enough, you could realize that I collect the quotes and voice overs on this show like its my job.  I love the music that I heard from the shoe. My favorite song of all times is sang by Bethany Joy Lenz (the fabulous actress that plays Haley)-- Halo. And, of course, the song since the beginning by Gavin Degraw--I Don't Want to Be Anything. Kate Voegel, Michelle Branch and Sheryl Crow and so much more.

In the earlier part of the series, I didn't really like Brooke Davis (probably because of her promiscuity) but over time, I have grown to love her. She learned from her mistakes and learned to grown up like every one else. I have learned that anyone can really make a change in their lives and become the person you want to be.

The series finale was bittersweet. It was closure to everything that happened from the beginning. Everyone came back and it is really nice to think back how far every character has come. Even the newer characters like Quinn and Clay came to be a favorite for me and the story created around them is relatable. As much of an ass Chris Keller (Tyler Hilton) was, he certainly made an impact. I love the recreation of the important scenes from the previous seasons with a small twist/change and I love the fact the Julian is making a film as part of the story line to sum it all up. And, Gavin Degraw came back to sing!

Before I end this, I'll leave you with my all time favorite quote from OTH:

“At this moment, there are 6,470,818,671 people in the world. Some are running scared. Some are coming home. Some tell lies to make it through the day. Others are just now facing the truth. Some are evil men, that war with good. And some are good, struggling with evil. 6 billion people in the world. 6 billion souls. And sometimes, all you need is one.”

I'm going to stop before I start bawling.
Its been an awesome show. I'm going to miss you, One Tree Hill.
