Snow

(photo from here)

So people and social media has been telling me that snow has fallen for the first time this season in New England tonight. I have to say...after sweating under the blazing hot sun here in Northern California, I'm starting to wish winter would come sooner. Though almost 3 years ago I made the decision to get away from the cold weather as far as possible (thus coming all the way across the country), I actually miss the snow. I used to remember the times when I sat in my room with a lamp on and looking out the window as I listened to either yoga or holiday music, watching the snow fall. You can call me a freak, but I miss those times. I miss those times when you finally know when winter is finally here when you feel the little flakes fall on your head. I miss the time when senior sledding was an actual night activity. I just miss being able to step outside with a pea coat, tights and uggs into the cold and frosty weather for some time and coming back to the heater. I miss those sudden moments of coldness that really reminds you of the beauty of the winter season.

The sun is great but somehow I have learned that a cold winter season never hurts to remind you of the beauty of seasons. For the longest time, I always thought summer was my season but I'm starting to realize that fall and winter might be the thing for me.

I miss the snow.

And, I still need to make my snow angel.

Happy Labor Day!

So, this weekend kind of flew by and I had planned to get a lot of work done. Only to find that only probably 10% of what I planned to accomplish this weekend actually was done. Well, fine. I got most of the things I planned on buying. But for the rest of the stuff like the most important of all, like work, is barely done. I was kind of on a roll with all the work I had to do last semester and now I feel like I am back into procrastination mode. And, the sad part is that I'm not making the time I not using to do work worth anything. Anyways, for the rest of the day, I'm going to try to accomplish what I have done this whole weekend (or week of the matter).

On the bus back from Pho for lunch today, there was a homeless man asking for change. But the way he did it was kind of creepy. He peered this head through to the people who were sitting in front of him as close as he could get. People turned around to see what it was only to jump a bit by whole close he was. It didn't get any better when he continues to cough throughout the whole ride. Normally, I don't care about germs but it really made me feel disgusting and gross after I got off the bus. It reminded me of some of the things the professor from the global poverty class that I'm taking about poverty and homeless people in America.

Whats to come is more like rant...
Yesterday night, I had the guts to pound on my neighbors door. I was so pissed that I didn't even care if I should be feeling bad at all. It was 4am and he and his friends was chanting and clapping on top of their lungs. We didn't even know what he was chanting because it was all in korean. Well except for the 15 minute chant where he and his friends were yelling "LA-BOR DAY. LA-BOR DAY" on top of their lungs. Like, I know you're excited but please. I literally wanted to pound on his door at 9am this morning when I headed out and yelled "LABOR DAYYYYY" because of his excitement last night. Why not continue the the excitement since you were so excited about it at 430am? I mean, I'm all about have a good time and partying but chanting korean drinking games isn't exactly what I want to fall asleep to especially since I actually had to get up early. Sometimes I wonder if he actually understands what it means to lower your volume and be considerate because after they lowered their volume in the next apartment over. Some of his friends begin to disperse and they move that conversations into the hallway. Like seriously? I told you to shut up and you think it doesn't apply to the hallway. I always wonder how he could possible fit so many people in there considering it is probably as big as my apartment. The funny part is that of the two times that my roommate and I pounded on his door to tell him to tone it down, neither times did he actually open the door himself. Instead, he sends one of his friends to come to the door and say "sorry" and slam the door. Like seriously? You're causing me trouble and you give me attitude. This apartment build is really not condusive to loud parties. I mean kick backs are fine but chanting is going to kill me. This is the second time he has had one of his chanting parties in 2 weeks which make me worry for whats to come next.

Anyways, I think I'll stop rambling for now.

Until next time.
