Farewell, Chuck.

I actually did not realize this until I turned on the TV last night, but one of my favorite TV shows has come to an end. To be honest, I actually did not like the show when it first aired. One summer I was so bored that I decided to give the show another try and I finished two seasons in a few weeks.

The thing I really like about Chuck is that the characters are pretty relatable in real life. Yes, there is a ton of spy action but the averageness that these characters are built upon appeals to me. In the midst of all the pretty awesome spy action, the social problems and stories that it portrays is actually pretty well written. The spy action isn't overplayed either. In a way, it also got me interested in working for the CIA and interested in cognitive science at some point. Its no joke.

The humor on the show is also really lighthearted which I really like. Its slightly kind of stupid but also extremely funny at the same time. Morgan and Chcuk also have the coolest and awesome friendship. No matter what happens, they also seem to have each others back and thats what I really like about that relationship.

Oh, and I'm going to miss Jeff and Lester. The coolest and also funniest employees of the Buy More. Whenever I think of Best Buy, my natural instinct is to call it the Buy More.

Chuck is definitely an everyday hero. He smart, relatable and funny character. I actually think he would be a pretty cool friend to have in real life.

The series finale is definitely somewhat bittersweet. As Chuck tries to get Sarah to remember their marriage and relationship (I thought it was really sad how Sarah lost all her memory at the end of the season), the flashbacks makes you smile. The ending is somewhat ambiguous but it leaves you wondering how the relationship ends. And, it leaves you wondering in a good way and putting a peace of mind to a cute and loving relationship.

"It'll be ok," says Chuck. I think they will be. And, we will be too.

Definitely needed to have a Chuck marathon in the very near future soon. You'll be missed, Chuck.

Ticket to Indy: Superbowl XLVI

23-20. An epic end to a hard fought game.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I can't really describe how excited I feel right now. I really have no words. We're one step closer to the greatest victory that we've all been waiting for.

The missed field goal in the last seconds of the game remains a miracle. It continues to leave me speechless. Even Coach Belichick had to take a while to comprehend what happened. It just happened. Miracle. Amazing.

To be honest, this was not the best game ever. Somehow everything came together at the end and giving the pats another trip to the superbowl. I have been waiting for this moment for 4 years now.

The Good
Sterling Moore. Broke up the TD pass that would have sent the Pats home in the last seconds of the game.
Brandon Spikes. That interception was good (only to have Brady throw it away in the next play).
Papa Wilfork. The pressure coming from him was just great and playing strong even with an injury.
The defense line and the linebackers did a solid job and held on to help the pats win.

The Bad
*I hate to say it but its Tom Brady. Even Joe Flacco played better than him tonight. He didn't throw well at all. He threw away a scoring opportunity and the opportunity to seal the deal. The good thing is he admitted he sucked so it back to the practice field to hone up his skills for the biggest game yet.
*The secondary. Clearly Flacco completed most of his passes because he knew that the secondary was weak. Too bad Kyle Arrington was taken out of the game with an injury.
*Gronk getting injured. Who knew Bernard Pollard was capable of injuring the Pats top players? He must be Boston's hated nfl player. First he took Brady down for the whole season in 08 and now Gronk? Thank god Gronk is healthy enough to recover soon. Damn.
*Danny Woodhead. I don't really like hating on Woody because I actually really like him on the team and I think he has done a considerable amount of solid job for the team. But, the kick return fumble is one of the biggest mistakes yet. Though he managed to redeem himself in the next return, that was one big mistake that can't happen again. Hopefully this won't impact his play in the superbowl.

All in all, I'm just extremely excited that the Pats are heading to the superbowl again. I have been waiting for this moment for the longest time. This time, it is all finally coming together.
Bring it, Giants. This rematch of the tragic end to '07 is just about to begin. And, this time...the Patriots are going ALL THE WAY.

Win for Myra. MHK.

Miracle.

23-20. AFC Champs.
I don't exactly how all it all came together in the last moments of this game. More updates this epic game later. Wow. What a miracle. Still taking the time to take it in and what happened in the last couple seconds of the game.

SUPERBOWL 46. Win for Myra.

Go get it, Pats.

Is it Sunday already?

Sunday cannot come any sooner. This is it. The Pats are one step closer to the superbowl. I can feel it and this is the year. After disappointing playoff runs since '07, I think this might be the year the Patriots can take it all the way.

I guess watching the AFC Divisional game over and over again doesn't make it any easier.

Bring it, Ravens. We're ready for you.

Culinary Art

My father has taken me to the Krug room a few times now. It is definitely something worth experiencing but to be honest, the food isn't that good. This year (well, 2011), I had it worst. Had an extremely awkward episode in the elevator at home and in front of my sistah. Yeah, it was real awkward.

Despite my complaints, it is certainly aesthetically beautiful.

"Tea." Its actually a consumme soup with a yolk. The tea bag was made with herbs and all handmade and edible.

"Flower Pot." Its all edible and vegetables. The soil is actually mushed rocket leaves.

Now the coolest part....The makings of an ediable masterpiece.

Creating "Winter Wonderland"

Its snowing!

It gets misty at night! Its liquid nitrogen poured into a chocolate sphere.

Ending the meal...Make up for the ladies and cigars for the men.

Yes, the cigars and cigarettes are edible. Its chocolate. And the make up is flavored sugar and a "cotton ball"is given as cotton candy to big in the sugar. The lip stick is chocolate as well. The only time when my father can't kick me out the house for smoking and where men can put on lipstick with no odd looks.

More from the night...

So much more to post. More will come soon.

Happy Birthday, Mum.

This should have been written last week so its extremely overdue.

People say I look like my father and if I was a man and old, he would be it (note: I still hate the thought of this. If you've met my father, you'd probably figure out why). But if I'm like any person, it would be my mom.

If you have been keeping up with me the past few years, you would have realized that I constantly refer to my mom as a *certain profane word*. Though I constantly describe her with this certain word, I'm honestly using it with a somewhat positive connotation. So, in reality, I really don't mean and I'm going to take that back. I guess that right word for it wouldn't be a profanity but tough.

To be honest, my mother is the most awesome woman in my world. No one exact word could describe how I feel about her. If you've heard my depressing spiel about my future, you would probably have hurt me talk about that the day that my mother dies would be the worst day in my life and that I would cry a river on that.

Quite a great deal of my childhood had been spent arguing and winning battle with my father but dealing with an extremely stubborn, outspoken, loud and extremely weird man that is almost a nearly impossible task. When I mean nearly impossible, I mean that there is one person who has been able to do so–my mother. My mother has been able to win countless battles against my weird father ( I swear, its not that viscious as you imagine).

My mother has been a person I look up the most. Yes, it is a bit cliche but if I could have just half the person she is...I would think I have succeed. Besides from the regular things like shopping and eating out that every mother and daugther would probably do, she has taught me to do a whole lot more.

She has taught me to become a kinder person. She has taught be to become more forgiving even when someone aggresses you and hurts you. Sometimes, letting it go may just be the answer. She has taught me to live my life with grace and dignity. She has also taught to go out into the world to be a braver person as can be. She has taught be grateful for everything that is given to me. She taught me to believe and have faith in things and that things would turn out just fine if I have tried my best. I supposed this list can go on and on (and one can only write so much before things get boring).

My world has been a brighter place because of her. She has been my support for my frequently flimsy backbone.

Thank you mao mao (I can't just mama right in Chinese, according to her) for bringing me into the world and being such a great teacher. I hope you that everything you wished for comes true.

Happy (Belated) Birthday Mum!
(My mother uses "mum" instead of "mom." It makes me giggle sometimes with her bit of British accent.)

What a Start to the New Year

So, my parents decided that we had to take a short trip during the beginning days of the new year with some visiting family friends. Little did I know that I was getting myself into. Well, as a matter of fact we were all a little surprised for what was yet to come. All I thought was going to happening during this short family vacation was relaxing by the pool and a little fun activity in Kota Kinabalu. But that was quite the opposite.

Instead...
I MADE IT TO THE TOP OF MOUNT KINABALU.

Yes, I made it to the top of a 4,095m (13,435 ft) mountain by foot. I made it up there with no hiking boots but a pair of nike sneakers. Probably one of the worst decisions ever. I didn't think to bring a thick jacket. Only packed a thing fleece because I thought Malaysia was pretty hot. I didn't bring my wind breaker so I had to use a poncho which didn't help considering it rained every afternoon and we all got soaking wet.
On the first day we hiked 6km up hill and ended up at some lodge in the middle of the mountain. Since it was dormitory style, we had to bunk up with 6 people and share a bathroom with the whole hall. I have never had to share a room with more than 3 people in my life. Oh, that made it worse was that there wasn't hot water in the shower after being soaked as we walked up the hill.

At the summit!

This was also the first time I slept so early in my life. I went to bed a 7:30pm and woke up at 1:30am. We climbed the last 3 km at 2:30am in time for the sun set. Good thing we hiked up there in the darker because you literally had to pull yourself up this part with a rope as you're hanging by the edge of the mountain. Oh, and it was freezing cold up top.
Then I thought that was a hard task, only to learn that walking that 6km down would actually be worse. Who knew walking down rocks and stairs would be so much harder? I didn't, I actually thought it would be a breeze. The heavy downpour didn't help much either.
Now, my foot hurts like a bitch. No joke. I can barely walk probably and walking down stairs is almost impossible. I walked down the subway station today and everyone got slightly annoyed as I tried to walked down the steps and blocked everyone's way.

But the good things is...

*I got a cool certificate that I made it to the top.
*I made it down alive. (I have heard several sad stories about this climbs)
*My legs are still intact.
*Lots of cool flora.
*Parts of the terrain is absolutely beautiful.
*Managed to survive without internet for 2 days straight.

We also went white water rafting which was extremely cool. I really enjoyed it. Too bad I didn't get any shots of it since I didn't bring a water proof case. Perhaps I'll upload some of the photos I bought soon. It was only a grade 2 journey but I'm actually now interested in stepping it up a notch and hoping to go again. It was actually fun.

Oh, and it never hurts to hang out by the pool after 2 days of intense climb. More to come with the other little activity that we did. Too tired right now.

I guess thats one thing of my new years list (though it wasn't really one to begin with). Climb a mountain in 2012. Check. Whats next?
