The Team That Took Brady Down. Well, Not Tonight.

That's my favorite shot from the game.

Ironic how Matt Cassel (who was Brady's backup and did an extremely good job in the 08 season) is not playing for the team that took Brady out back in 2008.

I have long been awaiting for this game, expecting Matt Cassel to return to New England to face his old team. Being a Matt Cassel fan, I was excited for his return and the story behind it but only to learn that he was put on the IR just a couple days before the game. Regardless, it is always great to have some MNF.

It was quite a bit of a sluggish start but they kept rolling, especially in the 3rd quarter. Though they did manage to keep the Chiefs in check, things didn't go as smoothly as expected. The win wasn't as intriguing as last weeks win. The offense shown to have some problems with converting thirds downs and making a few crucial plays. At least, they did their job and held through. The chiefs really went into the game aggressively and gave the Pats a run for their money. They managed to hold Brady and the offense to 10 points before going into the half. What seems to be a blowout for the Patriots seemed to be trickier than expected. Also, got to give credit to Tyler Palko, who started his first nfl game, for playing with much poise against a team and a quarterback that seems a bit mismatched.

Always a fan of the jumping shots. Nice.

The Chiefs is a team that looks and is built like the Patriots. With many coaches and staff on the Chiefs previously work with the Pats or Belichick, they probably figured out how Belichick works and uses it against us. The defensive coordinator of the Chiefs was with the Pats in its superbowl years and was a crucial part of the victories so taking the Chiefs probably wasn't as easy as I expected. But, as much interlinkage in between the two teams, I'd say the Pats has done well.


All in all, the defense continues to improve and step up with linebackers and the secondary really thin. It was so thin, they turned to Edelman who is a wide receive, for help at cornerback. He held on and made a few good tackle. Though he has had some problems on and off field that past couple of weeks, he again shows that he cannot be written off just yet.

Though Brady has done some uncharacteristic things lately, he always manages to pull through. Like in this game, the first couple of drives was a bit hard to watch as an avid Brady fan. The conversions of third downs that we used to see doesn't seem to be quite the same. Yet, he still manages to make the crucial ones, leading the team to victory. I still think Brady is missing that last piece but I hope he finds that really soon.

The Good

And thats two. You could kind of figure out and how he lands. There is another shot of him getting closer to the ground that it slightly scares me. That was one wild turn.

Thats two picks for Arrington for the night.

Gronk's 2TDs. I don't know how his head is still in tack after the 2nd one. He has broken a tight end record after this game. Julien Edelman proves to be a triple threat. Made some good tackles as a CB (yeah, the secondary is that thin) and the 72 yd punt return which really ended the game. Watch it, its that awesome. Vereen's first NFL TD. He made some good plays in the last drive and the touchdown is well deserved. Oh, and he used to play at Cal. Kyle Arrington's 2 interceptions, leading the NFL in interceptions.

Wait, 26? Whose that? Thats Phillip Adams.

Adam's first interception. You're going to ask who he is.Its Phillip Adams. Well, he is literally a third string secondary player. Sacks from Andre Carter is never bad. Overall, the defense remains to be holding up. Cannon's first NFL game since battling cancer. What a year for that OL man.

The Bad
PChung and McCourty being deactivated. These two need to come back quick. Matt Light gets injured in the 4th. The sloppy plays on both offense and defense at times which can be costly with stronger opponents. This one really bothers me...umm where the hell is Ocho?

Though there seems to be more goods than bads, something seems to be missing that hasn't gotten the Pats rolling in full mode. Lots of things to work on despite a easy schedule left. Anything can happen in the NFL, like the Dolphins downing the Bills last week or the Broncos beating the Jets.

A few things concerns me from here on out. The fact that the Eagles beat the Giants. The Pats fell to the Giants 3 weeks ago and it somehow worries me a bit as they take on the Eagles this week. And going down the line, Broncos also kind of worry me because you don't really know what to expect with Tebow and his offense. Welker's minimal catches recently has also made me kind of worried and sad. When taking away a team's weapon, Welker is the one for the Pats. Many people have said that he should be leading the league in receiving yards is a bit far reached at the moment since he hasn't cumulated as many catches as earlier games. And, Woodhead still needs a TD. That also seems to bothering me a bit. He has been making some good and critical plays though.

As much as I am concerned, a victory requires selflessness and thats what Woodhead and Welker have been doing to help the team put points up the board. And I'm sure the Pats will figure out a way to make it through to the playoffs. Anything less would be very devastating.

Maybe I should be a little more confident with Belichick and Brady. I mean afterall...
