Wow, time passes by pretty quickly. My vacation hasn't exactly extended yet. I'll be heading to Peru with my family in a couple of days. But here's what I have been up to since I last updated you on my life.
I did a ton of shopping. I bought the shoes that I really wanted for less than half the price of the ones that wanted. Well, obviously they're kind of like knock off so they don't exactly look the same. I bought myself a iphone cover to protect my phone since the last one broke like 6 months ago and even though I probably will only keep my phone for like another month or so. I also got this vera bradley bag (yes, I love em!) for a cheaper price than in the US and online which is kind of weird considering they actually don't sell them here in Hong Kong except in small boutiques.
Since my dad thinks I sit around and do nothing at home all the time (hey, its vacation, I can do absolutely nothing if I wanted to), he dragged me across the border to Shenzhen to show me this area where people copy famous (or not so famous but pleasing to the eye) oil paintings. It was really cool to see the duplications that they were able to make. There are lots of people paintings when we walked through. And it is quite interesting to know how inexpensive it is. Unfortunately, we didn't get any since my parents don't like to nail paintings (or anything of that matter) to their wall and my dad isn't an art guy at all.
I managed to watch lots of TV (though I'm mostly caught on my shows most of the time). I even started getting new stuff. Y'all can laugh but I watch Switched at Birth. It is kind of interesting though it is real cheesy at times. SYTYCD is always awesome though the Melanie's hype is overrated. Especially, her hip hop routine this week. It was possibly one of the most terrible things routines I have seen her dance or hip hop routines on this season and I can't believe she got complimented for it. And though she did do a back bend into a split, I didn't like it too much. I really hope Ricky makes it into the finale. Hes cool. I actually like the guys more the girls. But ah well, we'll see what happens. oh, and did y'all see Lady Gaga judge last week? It was kind of hilarious but awesome at the same time.
Oh, and my parents took me to the Krug room on my dad's birthday two weeks ago. ( I know, I'm bad. I didn't treat my dad out) There are pictures below. The food and creation looked amazing and are very creative but to be honest, I wasn't the tastest combination of foods.
It is also freaking hot at home at the moment. It was 35C today (Sorry, I still don't know how to work in Fs)
And now for the pictures (I apologize for the poor coloring and quality. It'll get better once I use my new camera)...
1. A view from my backyard (well, not literally. lol). I took a walk up a hill and did is what I found. Its the southside of Hong Kong. I didn't realize a 20 minute walk from home would give you such pleasant view!
2. Hong Kong Style Milk Tea and Condense Milk Bun. I ain't home until I've had at least a cup of that and one of those buns. Its worth every calorie.
3. Krug Room. The dessert portion of the meal. The creation is called Molten Lava and Volcanoes. Everything on the table is edible and sweet! The chef made us step back as he made the creation in front of use and he melted this chocolate ball thing (I think it was supposed to me a comet or some space related thing) with some sort of liquid nitrogen or something. It was really cool. You can even see the supposed smoke come out. And, there is my mom observing in amusement.
4. The flower pot. Everything including the soil and the entire plant is edible (Except the pot). They even waterred the plant with a vinegar type dressing!
